In 1989, Louis and Martha Neitz started Dr. SOOT, Chimney Sweep and patterned its operation after the European Chimney Sweep Guilds.   Operating with “Old World” values (where our word is our bond), we marry that attitude with modern chimney flue, fireplace, amd woodstove sweeping/inspection techniques to better serve our customers.

At Dr. SOOT we educate our customers

about the most efficient operation of their fireplaces and woodstoves. We provide condition checks and sweeps that meet both local and National fire codes. Our most important goal is to keep our customers safe.
